Republic City’s resident brooding firebender and adamant-scarf-sporter — Mako! As requested by r-y-n for being one of the winners of my last giveaway. Hope you like it r-y-n!
Last day to enter my 2nd tumblr giveaway!
Reblog to your heart’s content!
I’ll be picking winners at 9pm PST. I’m excited to see which 7 of you will win it!
Anonymous asked: if i may ask, what is your tools of trade? as in what do you use in your usual pictures? i am sorry if you already answered this, but i can't find it :c
No worries! I’ve answered all questions “privately” up to this point, so I wouldn’t expect you to find it.
Most all my work is done with Prismacolor pencils — black and white work included. My digital pieces are mainly done using either Chris Wahl’s set of brushes or Drew Green’s gouache brush. Hope that helps!
For those who’ve asked questions regarding my process, I hope this glimpse proves to be somewhat informative. It’s a piece I did a little while back, and one of the only recent instances where I’ve documented stages. Sorry! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I’d be happy to answer.
I still have one piece left for sale through Gallery Nucleus’ “Power In Numbers” project. $50 and proceeds go to benefit the Red Cross. So, yeah…that’s there. If anyone’s interested…
Thanks to everyone who’s reblogged my last post and entered my giveaway so far. I’ll be picking winners Friday night, so there’s still time to put your name in!
It’s Monday. Time to start a new week and time for another giveaway!!!
I reached 1,500 followers a couple days ago, and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all and return the love. You guys are awesome!
As you know, I really enjoy drawing my favorite characters during my doodling downtime (pictured above are the Merida drawings from my last post, and a drawing of Harry protecting Sirius from dementors as per this blog post).
So, for this giveaway, I will choose 7 winners who will each receive a signed 5”x7” drawing of a character of their choosing.
Standard rules apply. To enter:
1. You must be following me.
2. Reblog this post!
Easy peasy.
I’ll be randomly picking winners out of my “Winner’s mug” this Friday, May 18th. The clock starts. NOW.
Good luck and thank you!
WINNERS UPDATE 5/18:
Thank you to everyone who entered!! This round, the winners are: telephonecookies, resonatingnotes, codenameswestypants, ladyyueh, carvedantlers, courtneygodbey, siminiblocker, r-y-n
Yes, I did say there’d be 7 winners. And, yes, I did end up picking 8. This is either because I am awful at counting or because I like you all very much — or it could be a bit of both. Anyways, I’ll be contacting the winners regarding their requests and will post the finished drawings once completed. I’m excited to see which characters will be requested!
There will definitely be more chances to win doodles in the future. Till next time! ;) xo
It’s going to be fun watching Merida’s hair traverse through different landscapes and lighting situations Brave.
Night time is the right time to take a break and do some sketches of the Cat and the Bat.
And yes, you bet I’m excited for July 20th.
Rainy Friday nights make for ample doodling time.
I like griffins, so…here’s a “Gilded Griffin” girl I came up with.
Hurray! The top piece was chosen for American Illustration 31 and the bottom one is in the current issue of CMYK!
I’ve been gathering some of my illustrations together and thought I’d post this one…
Some days I feel a little unsure about the future, and a little insecure in my artistic abilities. Days like today, I wish I had a cat to help alleviate my worries. But, alas, I don’t have a cat…so I did a sketch of someone who does.
Watching the first two episodes of The Legend of Korra has gotten me all excited about the Avatar series again. I love how the characters move when bending. Inspired, I did a couple sketches of my own.
